twenty six privates left with various forces under Major Foster Lexington, Mo.
for Lone Jack on Aug 15th 1862 – On the 16th were engaged
in the battle of Lone Jack, Mo – The casualties in Co “C” were these vis: 1 Lieut Levi S Copeland-made
prisoner by the enemy, Sergt G.W.
Alexander & Luke Williams-dangerously wounded, Corp. Andrew B. Mickelborough badly wounded, Andrew J. Farmer killed,
Private Hiram Phillips killed, and 7 privates wounded.

Lieut. I.S. Carver with a detachment of 19 men with Maj. Foster
command of eight hundred men marched to Lone Jack,
there fell in with about four thousand rebels.
Lost of Lieut. Garver’s detachment two men
killed and eight wounded. Returned on 16th of Aug.
